Mike Dean – ESITS Scheme Director

Mike has a diverse background—from military instructor to scaffolder in various industries. He obtained a Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH) and worked as a health and safety consultant/instructor at SIMIAN throughout both the construction and events industries.

As the ESITS program expanded, he played a pivotal role in launching the ESITS scheme to the wider industry. His involvement spanned from the initial idea and planning to the development of the curriculum for the scheme and its eventual delivery. The training aspect of Mike’s role keeps him motivated and fulfilled, he loves providing people with the tools and knowledge to further progress their competence in the planning, controlling, erecting and dismantling of Temporary Demountable Structures safely.

Mike’s vision for ESITS is for it to be widely accepted by employers as evidence of quality training and assessment. His aim is for learners to demonstrate acceptable levels of knowledge, skills, and behaviours for occupational competence in TDS within the events, media, film, leisure, and entertainment industries.
