ESITS, the awarding organisation for temporary demountable structures, is pleased to confirm a new partnership with MUTA, the UK’s only trade association dedicated to marquees, tents and temporary structures.
Our mission at ESITS is to develop industry-recognised occupational qualifications through a network of approved training providers. ESITS courses provide a clear progression route for those building careers in the industry.
MUTA’s core mission is to raise industry standards through guidance, accreditation, and training. As a trade association, MUTA already delivers a range of short-form, entry-level training opportunities designed to help workers quickly acquire essential knowledge and skills.
By working together, ESITS and MUTA can ensure that training provision spans both immediate needs and long-term professional development, giving the industry a comprehensive pathway for skills and safety.
At this stage, the partnership is simple – MUTA will be contributing expertise and knowledge across various structure types. We will keep the industry updated as the scheme and our partnership progresses.
Our Scheme Director, Mike Dean, commented:
“We are really excited to be working with MUTA, the leading trade association dedicated to marquees and tents, and a sector representative organisation.
This collaboration will ensure that our qualifications meet the needs of industry in providing occupational competence and a career pathway for MUTA’s members. We welcome the support and expertise in the development of these industry-specific qualifications.”
MUTA President Lee Dalton added:
“We recognise that there have been questions regarding the relationship between MUTA and ESITS, but our focus remains clear – raising standards for the benefit of the entire industry.
This partnership is a positive way forward, and I personally look forward to supporting ESITS and the shelters committee, along with other representatives from MUTA, in ensuring that training is aligned with best practice and delivers real value to our members and the wider industry.”
Through this partnership, ESITS and MUTA will work together to develop the pathway to competency.
